What an OCD Conference weekend in Austin!
So great to meet and talk with everyone who stopped by our booth or stopped us in the hallways. And the new magnets we had were scooped up fast and some little kiddos even got free shirts!
So many of you shared stories of how our film helped you, your family and/or patients. We are humbled and honored to know that our work has made, and continues to have, an impact on young and old. Your stories made us emotional...next year we need more Kleenex!
Some other personal highlights for us included hosting "Film Fights Back" a short film festival featuring films created by those from the OCD community. It was a lively audience that came out to watch OCD is not me, Oh Crappy Day, UNSTUCK and Misdirection. Lance, the director of "Oh Crappy Day" was on hand for the fun Q&A after.
During the "OCD kids got talent" show, we presented the first IOCDF Youth Hero Award to Alyssa Weninger. (Video to come soon!) And we also helped organize new activities for siblings. The "Our Turn" sibling panel on Friday afternoon after featured Charlotte from our film and we were thrilled to see this important group have more visibility at the conference with the Thursday support group and sibling-only gathering on Saturday night.
